This publication analyzes the implementation process of the APELL Program over the past six years in more than 50 communities in the departments of Ancash, Cajamarca, and Lima in Peru.
Using the methodology developed by the Integrated Local Risk Reduction team of RAPID LA (Risk Awareness and Preparedness In Disasters Latin America), in conjunction with four mining companies operating in Peru: Compañía Minera Antamina, Minera Barrick Misquicilca, Minera Gold Fields La Cima, and Rio Tinto Minera Perú – La Granja Project.
This manual represents the effort to demonstrate the true value of the benefits and challenges offered through the implementation and practice of the APELL Program.
