As part of its own activities, the Anglo American Quellaveco company launched an important training program aimed at drivers on handling.
Alfredo Mogrovejo, a representative of the mining company, announced that they are developing a coordinated plan for safe traffic to comply with the Quellaveco operation’s own theme.
“Since they are important and main public roads that connect with the population’s traffic, coordination was made with the municipalities of Mariscal Nieto and San Antonio, the National Police, and Firefighters to directly address the training issue with urban and interurban transport entrepreneurs who provide service to the population to discuss everything related to road safety,” he said.
For this occasion, RAPID LA and San Rafael companies, which have extensive experience, were hired to work hand in hand with entrepreneurs to reinforce their knowledge.
As transporters and entrepreneurs become familiar with road safety, they can transmit this knowledge to the population using the service to ensure safe traffic.
This is a work that will last several months, and certification will be issued in the name of the MTC. It is expected that a greater number of transport companies, associations, and users will be able to join the training.
Manuel Bravo, a representative of RAPID LA, stated that they have been carrying out their work in Peru for 15 years, implementing the APELL program designed by the United Nations, which involves awareness and preparedness for emergencies at the local level.
Anglo American entrusted them with defensive driving training, which involves interactive workshops. Initially, it is a pilot program that will measure its impact on people, and as it progresses, it will be expanded socially.
